Overview of Course

This very practical course explores how people can best use assertiveness techniques to be effective at work.

Effective assertiveness techniques enable people to communicate their point of view with confidence and clearness. This helps people to perform better at work.  Colleagues, other team members and customers all benefit from this.

This course identifies and helps participants practise and apply assertive techniques appropriate for the situation and the other people involved. Participants learn to identify and select assertive behaviour as opposed to aggressive or non-assertive behaviour. The course also provides valuable strategies for dealing with difficult work situations and difficult people at work which may be challenging.

1.       Value the importance of assertive behaviour

2.       Identify own strengths and weaknesses in communicating assertively

3.       Distinguish between assertive, aggressive and non-assertive behaviour
